>Dude with SKS says that his won’t open
>Go over and look at it
>Tell him to drop the mag and then jerk back on the bolt
>it opens, he thanks me
>before I leave, notice that he’s shooting it on single shot with gas system shut off
>ask him if he’s doing that on purpose
>He asks what I mean
>”Like are you working the bolt after every shot?”
>”How else do you shoot a bolt action?”
>Tell him it’s a semi-auto rifle and he has it set up for launching grenades
>Show him how to turn it off
>He didn’t clean the cosmoline out of his rifle, can’t get it to switch over
>Also tell him his gas system is about to hit him in the face since it’s not in all the way and not locked in
>He thanks me and said he thought the SKS was a straight pull bolt action
I felt like I was being kind of nosey, but I wonder how long it would have taken him to realize that his SKS wasn’t a bolt action
